Data deletion instructions

Omni Chat is a customer-service platform. A business connects its own Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, WhatsApp Business number, LINE official account or website widget to it, and its staff answer the messages people send to those accounts. The messages, the profile name and picture the platform shows, and the notes and tags staff add belong to that business. This page says how to have them deleted.
You arrived here with a confirmation code
Facebook sends people here after they ask, in their Facebook settings, for the data this app holds about
them to be deleted; the address you came from ends in ?code=…. That code names your
request. It is recorded the moment Facebook sends it, and an operator carries the deletion out within
30 days. To ask where it stands, or to have it done sooner, write to
[email protected] and quote the code.
If you messaged a business and want your data removed
- Ask the business you wrote to. They control the workspace and can delete the conversation, your contact record and everything attached to it from inside Omni Chat; the deletion covers their copy of the messages, your profile name and picture, uploaded files, notes and tags.
- If you cannot reach them, or they do not answer within 30 days, write to [email protected] from the address or with the account you used, and name the business and the channel (for example the Facebook Page). We will identify the workspace, tell its owner, and delete the data ourselves if they do not.
If you connected your Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp account to Omni Chat
Two steps, and the first one is enough to stop any further access:
- Remove the app's permission at Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites (for an Instagram account: the Instagram app → Settings and activity → Apps and websites), find Omnicone.com and remove it. Facebook then tells us to drop the tokens, and we do.
- Ask for the stored data to be deleted: in Omni Chat, Setting → Account Channel → the channel → Disconnect removes the credentials and the subscription at once. To have the conversations and contacts deleted as well, write to [email protected] with the account name or the page id.
What we delete, and when
- Within 30 days of a confirmed request: conversations and their attachments, the contact record (name, picture, provider id, tags, notes, custom fields), delivery and read events, and any export made from them.
- Immediately on a disconnect: the channel's access tokens, its webhook key and its subscription at the provider.
- Backups are kept for up to 30 days and are overwritten on their own schedule; deleted data is not restored from them.
- Kept longer only where the law requires it (for example invoices and payment records of the business that pays for the workspace) or where the record no longer identifies you (counts and totals in reports).
Account of a staff user
A user of the console (an owner, admin or agent) is deleted by the owner of the workspace in Setting → Users, or by writing to [email protected]. Deleting the user removes their profile, their session and their credentials; the messages they sent to customers stay in the conversation as part of the business's record.
